Welcome to Kanji Ramen, Cape Town’s home for authentic Japanese cuisine. Founded by Chef Seelan Sundoo and Experienced Restauranteur Gavin Hagger, our restaurant brings traditional ramen and Japanese street food style small plates to South Africa’s culinary capital.

Inspired by their love for Japanese flavors, Chef Seelan and Gavin created Kanji Ramen to introduce Cape Town to the rich, comforting taste of ramen. Our menu features carefully crafted bowls of ramen, each simmered to perfection with hand-pulled noodles and tender slices of meat. Additionally, we offer a selection of classic Japanese small plates, including Gyoza, Edamame, Takoyaki, and Karaage, perfect for sharing or enjoying as appetizers.
